Detroit legend Rick Wade returns with his fourth Shall Not Fade release: a four-track EP packed with different flavors from timeless deep house to drum 'n bass.On Late Right EP, Wade delivers the classic Detroit-sounding deep house with which his name is synonymous, at times experimenting with stylistic elements borrowed from tribal house, acid, and ghettotech. The title track is a punchy deep house track with a funk-infused bassline and jazzy ambiance which carries through to the next two tracks where it's accompanied by the rattle of conga drums ("Kabukicho") and a gentle acid melody ("Acid Creep"). Finally, "Quantum Jit" brings things to a giddy close: a stripped-back club tune with skitterish claps and the syncopated breakbeat of drum and bass.
